didanexperiment: (OOC)
I ended up redoing Eion's backstory. I did decide to go with making Eion the mage after all. I think it ended up working out better and now that another mun has adopted Sera ([livejournal.com profile] fbitomboy), I thought it would only be fair to announce what I ended up doing with Eion.

Basically, I decided to have Terrence and Eion know each other for quite awhile instead. The two have known each other since childhood. Terrence learns fairly early on about Eion's talent for magic, a gift he inherits from his mother, Helen.

Eion's father, James, over time pretty much ends up becoming unphased by a lot of supernatural goings on. He was an FBI agent too and Eion followed in his father's footsteps. Eion tends to get saddled with the odd cases others don't want to deal with since they seem to involve the supernatural. (Some actually do and some don't. In the ones that do, Eion is known to use his magic to protect himself and others.)

After Terrence's transformation, Eion attempts to try to change his friend back. He can't, as his magic isn't powerful enough to do so. But he is able to make sure Terrence retains his conscience and personality. There's a bit of a trade off as Terrence's abilities are somewhat deminished, leaving Terrence weaker than other vampires and his heightened senses not always being able to warn him of danger right away.

I think this works out better. It keeps the stories somewhat lighter than what they seemed to be turning into to. The one thing is was that these stories were supposed to have a bit of comedy to them and Terrence was supposed to at times poke a little fun at popular stories.
