I really needed to update my journal style so I tried this one.

I dunno if I like it.

Seems like in the media, there are certain 'tropes' for vampire characters. A lot of 'em are technophobes but...I mean, there's definite defining characters of a lot of 'em.

You got your old and dangerous one stuck in the past.

You got your old and dangerous type who spends a lot of time with his shirt off until some chick makes goo-goo eyes at him long enough to get her mind warped into doing whatever the old vampire wants.

You got the angsty prick who tries to reform himself for all his past crimes.

And then you got the really animalistic ones that are more complete monsters with no trace of humanity what-so-fucking-ever.

As for me? Is there 'hey kid, stop asking me if I sparkle and let me get back to sending my text message' trope?

Cuz that would be mine.

Thanks!

To paraphrase comedian Lewis Black, "Have a merry merry and a happy happy. And I hope for each of you that [2010] doesn't bite the big one."

I noticed some people actually answered this with certain fictional vampire too. And to those people? I'm wanna to take whatever book of vampire lore you're reading and smack you upside the head with it.

I think I've already ranted enough on this subject in a previous entry but I couldn't resist tossing in my two cents when I saw this question.

So, uh...there's this new show on BBC America called 'Being Human.' Premise wise, it sounded kinda neat. Basically, a werewolf, a ghost and a vampire share an apartment together and they all attempt to sorta blend in and live normal lives.

I thought maybe I could relate to the vampire character and all but I kinda wanted to smack him upside the head.

In case anyone was gonna watch it, I'll put my review behind a cut due to spoilers.

I warn you that my review is a ramble. )
